Updates to Facebook’s video features. Meta says users will see a new video tab soon, formerly known as “Facebook watch.” There are also improved editing tools, and the ability to upload HDR video, making the platform more competitive with YouTube and Tiktok.
Tiktok has added “passkey authentication” on iPhones. Users can log in using biometrics. Such as Face and TouchID. The data will be kept on your device, meaning Tiktok won’t have access to it. The feature rolls out this month but not in the US.
YouTube has unveiled an easier way to speed up videos. The site is testing a feature that allows users to “long-press” the screen to watch a video at twice the playback speed. That cuts down on the four steps it currently takes to adjust the speed. For now, the feature is only available to premium users.
