Tech Bytes: WhatsApp breaking language barriers
In today's Tech Bytes from ABC News: Samsung is making a change to its messaging app for Android, X is testing a new feature to cut down on spam, WhatsApp is about to break language barriers.
Samsung is switching things up when it comes to messages. The “Galaxy Z Flip 6” and “Z Fold 6” will now come with Google Messages as the default app instead of Samsung Messages. Users can still download Samsung Messages from the Galaxy Store.
Next, “X” is testing a new feature to cut down on spam. Users will soon be able to disable links in replies to their posts. Experts believe the change could reduce spam, but it may also limit sharing of legitimate sources.
Finally, WhatsApp is about to break language barriers. Meta’s instant messaging app will soon translate chat messages instantly. WhatsApp says the new feature will enhance communication and maintain encryption. The feature is reportedly available for testing to select users.
