Tech Bytes: YouTube Shorts gets longer

YouTube is expanding the length of YouTube Shorts, with content now reaching 1-to-3-minute videos. Google Lens now allows users to ask questions about what they are seeing in real-time using video and voice recognition. Spotify updates to allow for offline listening of your most recently listened to playlist.

YouTube Shorts just got longer. YouTube Shorts will soon expand from one to three minutes. The update also introduces comment previews and new remixing tools for creators. The change happens on October 15, as YouTube aims to compete with TikTok’s longer video options.

Google Lens is now allowing users to search with video and voice. Users can ask questions about what they’re seeing in real time and get search results based on their video and voice input. Voice questions are rolling out globally on Android and iOS.

No more “suffering in silence” when you have no service! Spotify is rolling out a new way to listen to music offline. The feature, for premium users, automatically creates a playlist of recently streamed songs. The playlist will appear once offline listening is enabled.
