The Duluth Symphonic Winds prepare for their “pops” concert

Today on Good Morning Northland, Brian Langlelee, the director of the Duluth Symphonic Winds, joins the show to talk about their upcoming spring concert.

The Duluth Symphonic Winds, a beloved community band, is hosting a spring concert that promises to delight audiences with a variety of tunes.

Director Brian Langlelee, who joined us this morning to share more about the event, explained, the Duluth Symphonic Winds’ spring concert will be a fun and lively pops show. “Our spring concert is a pops show, featuring music from movies, TV, and even video games. It’s going to be a great time!” Langlelee said. He also shared that the group has representation from all walks of life, “This group is made up of 78 members, ranging from a 19-year-old to a 92-year-old.”

The concert will feature iconic pieces, including music from legendary composers like Henry Mancini, Max Steiner, and John Williams. “As a huge Star Wars fan, I’m especially thrilled for the Soaring with John Williams segment, which includes both the Superman and Star Wars themes,” Langlelee shared.

Even better, the concert is completely free, with donations accepted to support the group. “We want everyone to enjoy the music, so there’s no cost to attend,” Langlelee added. Plus, there will be free refreshments during intermission, making for a truly enjoyable evening.

So, mark your calendars for Monday, April 14th, at 7 p.m. at Denfeld High School. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy an evening of sensational music.
