Part of the funding for the facility is thanks to a $21 million dollar investment from the United States Department of Agriculture. Overall, the department is investing nearly $51.2 million dollars into Minnesota.

Colleen Landkamer, the UDSA State Director for Minnesota, joined Good Morning Northland to discuss the importance of this funding and what exactly the USDA does.

According to Landkamer, the USDA Rural Development program is funding $21 million dollars towards the new Virginia Public Safety Center meanwhile the IRRRB is putting in nearly $300,000 dollars and $11 million coming from other Minnesota state funding.
