Altitude Cocktails opened on Saturday and aims to bring a big-city cocktail experience to the Twin Ports.

Owner Alex Taray is trying to bring “big flavors, great technique, and classics to Duluth.”

“I’ve been heavily inspired by the styles of New York and Chicago and Vegas, and I want to take all of those fun experiences that I’ve had and bring them here,” he said.

The bar is on the backside of Zenith Basecamp, which is on the corner of 27th Avenue West and Superior Street in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Taray says all of the simple syrups will be house-made and any citrus will be fresh-squeezed as long as it’s available in northern Minnesota.

“A big part of our menu was being able to offer anything to everyone,” Taray said. “And folks who choose not to consume alcohol, we have great choices for them as well.”

He plans to be open five days a week from 4-10 p.m. Details can be found on Facebook and Instagram.
