With the July 4th holiday just ahead, many are looking forward to a nice long weekend. And there’s plenty to do Around Town.
Firecracker 5k
The 4th annual Firecracker 5k is happening in Side Lake. It starts at 9 a.m. Saturday. Runners and walkers can register online all the way up through 8:30 a.m. on race day. It costs $15 for adults and $10 for kids. The race starts at Bimbo’s Octagon and promises nice views of town along the course.
Camp Esquagama at the Depot
In Duluth, you can have a camp experience while staying right in town. The Depot is hosting Camp Esquagama in the Great Hall from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday. Enjoy campfire sing-a-longs and team building activities at this free event.
Shell Lake Art Festival
This weekend, Shell Lake is marking the 20th anniversary of its art festival. Browse art and goods in mediums like pottery, wood, leather, paint, and more. The festival goes from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Memorial Park along the shore of Shell Lake. It’s free to attend, and parking is free too.
