As we welcome October, there are quite a few events happening Around Town.
Big Tap ChautauquaFest
Big Tap ChautauquaFest is making its return for the first time since 2019. You have to be 21 or older to get in, and once you do, it’s all you can eat and drink. Tickets cost $45, or there’s a $25 option if you don’t plan to drink. The festival runs from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Big Top Chautauqua. There’s a free shuttle from Ashland, Bayfield, and Washburn.
Stone Lake Cranberry Festival
Stone Lake, Wis., is hosting its 44th annual Stone Lake Cranberry Festival. There are events all weekend, but the big day is Saturday. Expect an arts, crafts, and flea market, plus plenty of opportunities to enjoy cranberry-infused foods. There’s even a parade at 2 p.m. Saturday and a 5k on Sunday morning.
Homecoming
Both the University of Minnesota-Duluth and the College of St. Scholastica are hosting Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 1. UMD’s plans include a beer and cider sampler from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by the football game against Moorhead. CSS’ Homecoming includes a slate of sporting events, including football, men’s and women’s soccer, and volleyball. There’s also a concert and a couple alumni gatherings.
