Minnesota’s first women’s sports bar, ‘A Bar of Their Own’ is working on a custom brew with Bent Paddle.

It’s an easy-drinking pale ale and will be called A Brew of Their Own.

Jillian Hiscock, the owner of the women’s sports bar, says she’s been a fan of Bent Paddle since the brewery opened over a decade ago. Her bar already has multiple Bent Paddle beers on tap.

Bent Paddle Co-Founder Karen Tonnis notes that collaboration came naturally, as Jillian has worked before with them, and their missions align, “We are 50% female-owned. We love to support women-driven businesses, female entrepreneurs.”

A Bar of Their Own was founded with the mission of creating an inclusive space for people to gather, enjoy a brew, and watch women’s sports. It’s been quite the hit.

Hiscock told The Lift, “I think women’s sports have been having a moment right now, but really, it’s been a movement that’s been building for decades of people who have been trying to get more attention focus on women’s sports. Women’s sports and women’s athletes work just as hard, if not harder than their male counterparts and don’t often have the same recognition.”

The brew will be available around the end of June at both A Bar of Their Own and Bent Paddle’s Tap House.
