A 160,490-pound mining scoop
“The Dipper,” a 160,490-pound iron mining scoop is there. It can hold two semi loads of material in just one scoop.
Iron Mining Association Executive Director Kristen Vake said very few people outside of the Range get an up-close perspective of the industry.
The IMA is celebrating 140 years of iron mining in Minnesota.
“The Dipper” is on Wright Avenue and Cosgrove Street on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
