Book swaps and sales with Crow and Co. To Go
Crow and Co. To Go is a pop-up bookstore and book swap service.
Readers can bring up to four gently-used titles to swap for tokens that can be spent on other used books or on discounts for new books. Any used books that aren’t taken are donated to local charities.
Sara and Lara Crow are the duo behind it. They bring books to local establishments like Bent Paddle, Dovetail Cafe, and Duluth Cider.
“Our tagline is that we do Queer, Weird, and Wonderful books,” Sara said. “Because of the area of interests that I had, that we both had, and all of that, we tend toward things that have LGBTQ or characters and writers from other marginalized communities because I love hearing new stories.”
Sara does more of the fiction and poetry, and Lara is more into nonfiction.
“There’s a lot of good history,” Lara said. “We say that we’re kind of niche – and we are. But they’re niche across genre.”
“We have a very large spectrum of what those niches are,” Sara laughed.
They’re regularly at Duluth Cider on the first Saturday of the month, Dovetail Cafe on the second Saturday, Bent Paddle on the second and fourth Sundays, 190 Coffee and Tea on the third Sunday, and Wild State Cider on the third Monday.

They’ll also be part of special events during National Library Week and Indie Bookstore Day.
