Breezy Point 5k continues homegrown fundraising

Steve Paulson stops by the set of the Lift to talk the Breezy Point 5k that supports the Minnesota Adult and Teen challenge.

For 16 years now, runners and others have been fundraising for Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge through the Breezy Point 5k.

It’s a free event in the Island Lake area north of Duluth. The Paulson family hosts it and has been thrilled to see it grow from just a handful of people the first year to around 600 walkers, runners, and spectators in 2023.

There will be a DJ and shirt pickup starting at 8 a.m. Saturday. Runners and walkers take off at 9 a.m.

All of the donations support MNTC‘s recovery programs because Steve Paulson lost his brother to addiction.
