Can Do Canines puppies arrive at Duluth prison camp
A litter of seven Yellow Labrador puppies will arrive at Duluth’s Federal Prison Camp Thursday. They’re from the organization Can Do Canines, which trains assistance dogs for people with disabilities.
The organization partners with seven prisons, including Duluth, to have select inmate handlers wean and start training the puppies.
First-time mom Dell had the seven puppies on April 1. Duluth inmates will spend the next five weeks weaning them off of her. Once the puppies turn 2, Can Do Canines will place them with clients free of charge.
