Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day this Saturday

Saturday, April 29, is Independent Bookstore Day. Shops across the Northland will be celebrating by inviting authors in to sign their books, offering deals, and more.

It’s also the 10th anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day.

“When you spend your money at an independent bookstore, you keep 67 percent of your money local as opposed to if you buy a book online or you buy a book at a big box store or corporation,” Jennifer Jubenville said.

The Bookstore at Fitger’s is planning to have treats, giveaways, discounts, and authors in the store to sign their books.
