Cinco de Mayo cocktails to try at OMC or make at home

Evan Sieve from OMC Smokehouse has a couple Cinco de Mayo Friday cocktail ideas.
You can get the Mezcal Paloma at OMC Smokehouse, or Sieve showed us how to whip one up at home.
Palomas are typically made with tequila and grapefruit soda. OMC favors mezcal because the smoky flavor pairs nicely with many of their smoked meats.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Tajin and salt mixture for the rim
- 2 oz. of Cruz de Fuego Mezcal
- 2 oz. fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
- 3/4 oz. of Xila Mexican Aperitif
- 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz. simple syrup
- Topo Chico sparkling water
Simply rim the glass, fill it with ice, then shake all other ingredients together, strain into the glass, and top with Topo Chico.
He says the Sweet Heat Ranch Water on their menu is another great Cinco drink.
