A new golf simulator sports bar is set to open Sunday in the Fitger’s complex.

Club One Under takes the place of The Rex, which closed in August 2023.

“During our travels with our other job, we visit sports bars with golf simulators. And they’re always busy. And they’re in Florida, Arizona, California, in warm climate areas,” Mike Locker, one of the owners said.

He and his brother Derek spent a lot of time testing simulators to find the one they thought would best suit Duluth golfers and visitors.

“We’re going to cater to the golfers. It’s a golf simulator sports bar,” Mike said. “But there’s a lot of fun games on here, you know, baseball and home run derby, kicking field goals and playing football, and lacrosse.”

“Zombie dodgeball,” Derek added.

The name is a nod to being one under par. But it also fit the space.

“The location’s underground. It’s kind of the lower level, the basement level, if you will,” Mike said. “And it’s a club.”

They hope Club One Under is a place for people to improve their game year-round.

“We have three professionals here to give training and lessons,” Derek said. “We have club fitting, we have club repair, we have anything golf-related.”

Simulators can be booked online now. They’ll also host leagues and tournaments and offer memberships.
