Earth Month: Bioplastic recipe
Students Paige and Adam Jacobson teach us how to make our own homemade plastic.
For Earth Month, the science-loving Jacobson siblings highlighted the problem of plastic pollution and an option to make bioplastic at home.
Paige and Adam Jacobson say bioplastic can biodegrade naturally without polluting the environment and water.
“The nice part about bioplastic is that anyone can make it. You can even make it in your very own kitchen,” Adam said. “And one also awesome thing about bioplastic is that it is completely, 100 percent nontoxic.”
They shared their recipe for homemade bioplastic.
“We can’t imagine a world without plastic, so let’s imagine a world where plastic pollution isn’t a problem,” Paige said.
Bioplastic was the focus of their project for this year’s Minnesota State Science Fair.
