The Northland’s first ever Cat Cafe to open in Duluth

Owner of the Wired Whisker, Misha Smith and her cat Violet stopped by The Lift to give us all the purr-fect details.

Purr-ogress is being made on the Northland’s first ever cat cafe: The Wired Whisker.

It’s set to operate like a regular cafe- but with an adoption aspect. Guests will make reservations for the cat lounging room. Owner Misha Smith says it’s working title is the ‘Cattery,’ and there will be between 10-15 adoptable rescue cats from Animal Allies.

“Market research, everything says that these people are animal lovers,” Smith tells The Lift that Duluth needs a cat cafe. “We’re ready for it.”

Wired Whisker will call East Superior St. in the Endion neighborhood home.

Smith plans to have extended hours into the evening and wine and beer offerings.

The business is also set to collaborate with the Positively Third Street Bakery and local food trucks to bring delicious eats.

No date is set for the opening.
