Five things to do before having a bonfire
Wildfire season started 6 weeks earlier the normal, we have five things you should know before having a bonfire.
Duluth Fire Marshal Lisa Consie says that thanks to the largely warm and dry weather this Winter fire season is already off to an early start. She shares her advice to make sure your bonfire stays in control.
No. 1: Only burn clean, dry firewood
No. 2: Always have a way to put out your fire.
No. 3: Always stay with your fire; never leave it unattended.
No. 4: Fire pits should be 25’ from structures.
No. 5: Clear away grass, leaves, and debris from around your fire pit area.
Call 911 immediately if your fire ever gets out of control.
