Sarah Glesner is known as @Sarah_UpNorth on Instagram, documenting adventures and travel ideas based in the Northland. Sarah shares 4 day trips with activities that people of all ages can enjoy and jump start their Summer.
No. 1: The Lost 40 Scientific and Natural Area
This one is located in Itasca County and is a great location to get a sense of what MN looked like before the logging industry moved through the area in the late 1800s.
No. 2: Scenic State Park
This location is a little off the beaten path, as it’s in Bigfork, MN. It’s sculpted by glaciers and has excellent fishing.
No. 3: Iona’s Beach
This feature is a great stop between Two Harbors and Silver Bay. Sarah suggests stretching your legs or having a picnic. There are beautiful rocks made almost entirely of tumbled pink rhyolite stones too.
No. 4: Brule River Canoe and Kayak adventure
Go solo, as a couple, or as a family because there are routes appropriate for all skill levels. Paddlers can bring their own gear of even rent.
