In Otter News: Mangabee Monkey Business
It's pure monkey business at the Lake Sueperior Zoo.
The Black Crested Mangabeys are the first animal you see walking into the Lake Superior Zoo. This is purposeful since they’re social animals. Zookeeper Kelli Carroll explains, “They love people watching. So, if there’s something going on in the lobby, they’re always out the window seeing what’s going on.”
Enrichment is key in these intelligent animals’ lives, Kelli explains, “We like to give our all as many primates the option to go outside as we can because they’re really smart animals.”
The monkeys enjoyed the sun, picking through the hay for hard nuts and in-shell peanuts. They family of five got to enjoy frozen fruit as well.
