The coyotes and their exhibit are new at the Lake Superior Zoo.

Kobach, Katmai are about one-year-old. The two were rescued from Alaska. Their mom died before they were even born, which is why the animals are so comfortable around humans. All coyotes in accredited American zoos are orphaned. Micayla Coble, the zoo’s primary carnivore keeper, says this is one of the ways that zoos can help save animals.
