Caleb Swanson and his friends own the shop Jack Pine Vintage, which sells vintage men’s apparel. Caleb says they decided to get a storefront after all their vintage stock became to big for the space in their basements.

“So I pick a lot of [the clothes] along with the other guys that own the shop, and we travel around a lot. Thrift stores and garage sales, it’s a lot of just work and hours of driving around and digging for stuff.”

You can find Jack Pine Vintage in Lakeside at 516 N 45th Ave E, Duluth, MN 55804. And you can stay up to date with them on their Instagram.

And what classifies clothing as vintage? Caleb says that any piece of clothing that is 20 years or older is considered to them as vintage. “We have things like as early as the 1930s and as new as like the early 2000s,” says Swanson.

Since 2019 Caleb has been selling vintage at pop-ups around the Northland, and knows Duluthians are always are on the hunt for vintage.

He says, “I think people in Duluth know quality being up here. You need good gear all year round, especially being a really outdoor city. Everyone’s biking and surfing even, you just need gear.”
