June events to bring in Summer

Jason Vincent highlights four events in June that are sure to help you jump start your Summer.
No. 1: Park Point Rummage Sale | June 9, 10 at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There are over 4 miles of bargains along Minnesota Avenue on Park Point. Parking is free, food is for sale, and the rush of finding a bargain is priceless.
No. 2: Grandma’s Marathon | June 16-17
Grandma’s Marathon weekend is approaching quickly. Here’s an outline of the events:

Friday, June 16 at 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. - Essentia Health Fitness Expo
Thursday, June 15 at 4 to 8 p.m.
Friday, June 16 | 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. - Michelina’s All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner
Friday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
It’s $16 for adults, $8 for kids ages 5 – 12 and children 4 and under eat for free. - William A. Irvin 5K
Friday, June 16 at 6 p.m. - Grandma’s Marathon
Saturday, June 17
No. 3: Doobie Brothers | June 20 at 7:30 p.m.
The band is making a stop at AMSOIL area on their 50th Anniversary tour. The tour features two founding members of the band, Pat Simmons and Tom Johnston– alongside Michael McDonald and John McFee, who joined a few years later.
No. 4: Duluth Rhubarb Festival | June 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year’s festival takes place at Stella Maris Academy and is one of the year’s largest fundraisers for CHUM. Features rhubarb in many different forms, like pies, muffins, crisps, plus brats and burritos!
