Leah Gruhn of Duluth finishes Iditarod Trail Invitational
Leah Gruhn, the Duluth woman who set out to fat tire bike the entire Iditarod trail, has finished the race.
It took her 21 days, 2 hours, and 48 minutes to bike nearly 1,000 miles across Alaska. The race started on Feb. 26 near Anchorage, and Gruhn finished on Sunday in Nome.
“What a wonderfully long time it is to have one singular focus of traveling along a seemingly endless trail,” she posted on Facebook. “I am so appreciative to have had this opportunity – it was everything I hoped it would be and more.”
