Liberace and Liza: A Tribute set to dazzle The Depot

'Liberace and Liza: A Tribute' is coming to The Depot in Duluth for Duluth Superior Pride.

The snazzy impression show ‘Liberace and Liza: A Tribute’ is coming to the Depot Friday as part of the many Duluth Superior Pride festival activities.

David Saffert and Jillian Snow are the creators of the show where they dress up and perform as the legendary Liberace and Liza Minnelli. “Think of it as tribute more than as impression” says Jillian.

“It’s like a fantasy friendship between Liberance and liza Minneli because it just make the most sense in the word doesn’t it?” says Snow. They two preform both artists greatest hits throughout their careers and throw in some newer songs as well. To get a taste of what’s to come check out their website.

David says, “Jillian and I do a lot of the big hits like Caberet, New York New York, The Man That Got Away. Liberace does Chopsticks a bunch of Gershwin. And then we go off the rails a little bit and we might do some Britney Spears, Lady Gaga.”

Liberace and Liza: A Tribute will be at the Depot Theatre on Friday and Saturday (August 30th/31st, 2024) at 7pm. For tickets call (218) 213-2780 or contact Brian@RubberChickenTheater.com

According to the creators both legends are huge figures in the gay community, so it means a lot to bring this show to The Depot for Duluth Superior Pride.

Jillian says, “I really gravitated to [Liza] as a little queer kid in Salem, Oregon because she just is so herself and she’s kind of a kooky person.”

In regards to the show David says, “So I am going to say that we are adding some queerness… take a moment to indulge in that and to leave your troubles at the door.”
