Making memories at Dogtoberfest

Dog owners in Grand Rapids got a head start on Halloween by dressing up their pooches for Dogtoberfest. Organizers hope that people were able to create lifelong memories with their pooches.

They had a costume contest, trick or treat, fun run and more. They also had a veterinarian on the site to answer any health questions. But perhaps one of the most exciting parts was that dog owners were able to get a portrait of their dog taken. Mandy Meyer, the photographer, said she had to be patient working with animals but the process was rewarding.
