Northland brothers, Tom Casey and Joe Casey, banded together to create a hybrid dice and card game that takes you into the world of Ward. Ward combines the classic aspects of trading card games with a dice rolling combat system of many tabletop role playing games.

“The goal is to bring us back to how we used to play in the old days of when we were younger. That’s what we did here. No intent to for anything to happen it was just supposed to be for us,” Joe told The Lift. “Eventually we realized we didn’t want to play anything except for this.”

“Because we had so much fun for it- we were just like, maybe other people would want to play this too?” Tom explains.

Ward has over 150 unique cards. They’ll be releasing the second generation of Ward cards this summer. Generation 2 Expansion will feature 150 additional new creatures and magic cards.

There is a Ward Tournament this Saturday, April 20th at Collectors Connection in Duluth.
