Minnesota Ballet to open their version of ‘The Nutcracker’ set in Duluth
The classic holiday season ballet shoe the Nutcracker is synonymous with the winter time. But the Minnesota Ballet is taking this classic show and is setting it in Duluth during the turn of the century.
“It makes it much more fun, to make it this localized production, because it’s an opportunity for us to celebrate the community that supports us,” says dancer Juliana DeBellis
The show is taking place at the DECC inside Symphony Hall this weekend.
To provide more opportunities for kids to see The Nutcracker, the Minnesota has started a new deal. For any adult ticker purchased you’ll get a free youth ticket with your order.
Juliana DeBellis has been doing the nutcracker since she was 5-years-old. She says the show never gets old for her. “And so it’s really wonderful to have this recurring thing as a part of my own Christmas tradition,” she says.

The company advises you enter the DECC parking lot from the William A. Irvin side of the lot, due to the busy traffic from Bentleyville.
