New London Cafe avocado toast

New London Cafe, a staple in Duluth’s Lakeside neighborhood, is working on freshening things up.

“We’ve been here awhile, like 20+ years I believe,” Head Chef Sarah Severson said. “So just kind of rebranding and coming into Lakeside with a little bit better food, good service, good atmosphere.”

Severson said they’ve been going through local farms and bakeries as suppliers.

She showed us how they make an avocado toast that is on special right now. It’s made on Johnson’s Bakery bread with cured egg yolks, radishes, hot honey, and more.

Severson said New London‘s menu will change periodically, and they’re looking forward to hosting some events in the future like a Valentine’s Day dinner and Mother’s Day brunch.
