North magazine aims to elevate Northland stories

The folks behind 'North' Magazine joined us to talk all about the stories they've covered about people and the places in our region.

“North” magazine is a new publication that lifts up local people and places for visitors and those who live here.

Started by local real estate agent Tracy Ramsay, “North” comes out twice a year.

“Our mission is to celebrate the people, the places, and the experiences that define the culture in our region,” she said.

The most recent issue features a gorgeous North Shore home, a backcountry skiing adventure, a photographer who does his best work in extreme cold, and a road trip to discover sauna culture.

Editor-in-Chief Frank Roffers is excited about how “North” is combining technology with print.

“Some of our pages in a lot of our articles, we have QR codes. And if you scan it, it will take you to a 3-minute, 5-minute video of something that’s really highly produced and very interesting,” he said.

The existing issues and subscriptions to future ones can be purchased online.
