There will be a lot of music to enjoy in Superior this summer.

Friday, June 21 is Make Music Superior, a free musical celebration on the longest day of the year all over the city. Almost 30 artists will perform on sidewalks, in venues, and all over the place.

Siggy’s Musical Garden is spearheading the effort. John, the artist behind SonOfMel is excited for both Make Music Day and Superior Porchfest.

“The first year I played it, I was playing in this backyard with a garden behind me,” he said of Porchfest. “And kids were riding their bikes around me, dogs were chasing them, and there were like three or four generations there, sitting and talking to one another. Because that’s what it’s about, it’s about people meeting under the excuse of, ‘Oh, let’s hear some live music.'”

Superior Porchfest happens every other Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in various neighborhoods throughout the city.
