With Grandma’s Marathon hype ramping up, returning runners are getting excited to run on the beautiful course of Grandma’s Marathon.
The diverse route tends to be a big draw for runners, with its perfect mix of nature and city sights.
Conrad Hjort has been running Grandma’s for 30 plus years, and has 3 spots that are what make the race for runners.
- MILE 17 & 18: The transition from the nature side of the race to the city part of the race happens. The crowd gets bigger and the course gets more challenging.
- LEMON DROP HILL: The most challenging segment of the race, where spectators cheer runners on to get them to push through for the downhill part of the race.
- MILE 26: The segment that is typically after the part behind the DECC, The crowd is roaring and the finish line is so close.
- THE CHUTE: Where the finish line is.
