See the UMD Planetarium’s new projector in action for free

STEM activities and demonstrations will be on full display at Astronomy Day at the Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium.

The University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium is getting a new projector.

“The biggest thing is since it’s a newer technology, we’re going to have better resolution, it’s going to be brighter, better contrast. It’s just going to look even more out of this world,” Planetarium Director Jessica Rogers said.

The public is invited to see it in action during the annual free Astronomy Day. The event runs from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.

Rogers plans to host free planetarium shows along with STEM activities and demonstrations and telescope viewing if weather permits.
