The Super Fun Toys store is Mindy Ollanketo’s gift to the city of Ashland. It’s a toy store that sells new and old toys at an affordable price.

“So the nice thing about my store is a lot of the little pieces, they’re all sold individually. So, a kid can have a toy in each hand and come out of here with spending maybe $5 or less,” says Mindy.

Mindy is a former kindergarten teacher who’s been collecting and selling toys for a while. She says that her kids would have phases where they would go from one toy to the next, so having bins and being organized for they moved on what crucial.

That inspired her categorized wall, with bins of toys from almost every single franchise.

Mindy seeks out all kinds of toys. “Pretty much every week I try to make my way to any thrift store I can. In the summer time, if I see a garage sale, I’ll stop in and see if they have any fun toys. But then I’ll buy collections from people. It’s just, anytime I see something I’m like, ooh, I love that,” she says.

Giving those older toys a new home on the South Shore.
