Spring sippers to put on your wine shelf
Getting to know great wines for spring. Koha Sauvignon Blanc, Chateau Mourgues du Gres, Mary Taylor Cabrerisse
With spring in the air, Madison Sabol of Bourget Imports procured a few wines perfect for sipping this season.
- Koha Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand: “I really love a New Zealand sauvignon blanc for this time of year. I just think they’re really lightweight and fresh.”
- Château Mourgues du Grès Fleur d’Egalantine Rosé from Costières de Nîmes, France: “In the wine world, we look forward to this time of year because all of the vintage rosés from the previous year, so everything that was grown and made in 2023 is now being released.”
- Mary Taylor Cabrerisse from Languedoc-Roussillon, France: “Anything that has some oak to it but is lighter weight so like Malbec or wines from Spain and Rioja and Tempranillo are all really great for grilling. They handle char well.”
To drink seasonally, she thinks about how her diet shifts and uses that to guide her wine choices.
