Taiga Farm & Seed helps Northlanders grow food at home

The Northland may not have the longest or most reliable growing climate, but Taiga Farm & Seed still makes it possible to harvest food at home.

The Northland may not have the longest or most reliable growing climate, but Taiga Farm & Seed still makes it possible to harvest food at home.

Caroline Hegstrom is the founder and owner and sells seed collections specifically for northern environments.

“There is fewer resources for cold climate growers,” she said. “There’s over 8 million people who live in Zones 3 and 4, and there really is so little information to help them grow food in those zones.”

She wants to empower people to have Modern Victory Gardens, spurred on not by necessity in wartime but to fill the gap in farming communities.

Hegstrom sells her seed collections at taigafarmandseed.com.
