Teeb Con will celebrate tabletop gaming and more
Teeb Con is a pop culture and tabletop gaming convention coming to Duluth Aug. 24-25.
They say it’ll be “nerdy fun” featuring “sci-fi, fantasy, comic book, tabletop game, anime, & nostalgia fandoms.” In 2023, the first event was in Steve Kaarbo’s home.
“And now, growing from my front yard with 80 people to the DECC, the Cityside Convention Center, with tabletop gaming, celebrity guests, vendors, artists, special panels, special giveaways for the whole weekend,” Kaarbo said. “We’ve kind of grown exponentially.”

The convention’s name comes from Steve Kaarbo’s nickname, “Teeb,” which he got at work.
“I think there’s just a desire for the Northland nerds to come together and dress up in cosplay and play games like Kings of War, Warhammer, Magic. We’ve D&D. So all of those folks come together,”
There are also comics, video games, movies, and more. Kaarbo says it’s for all ages. They also have a community focus because his day job is family and mental health.
“We’ve created a mental wellness scholarship to help train therapists to meet the need of our community,” he said.
They also give money to the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest and the Minnesota Masonic Children’s Clinic for communication disorders.
