Ten zero-waste home cleaning supplies
A rapid-fire of ten zero-waste home cleaning supplies that can make things easier to clean your home and help the environment.
Cleaning supplies are often disposable, but April Hepokoski from Zero Waste Duluth says there are alternatives that do just as good a job.
She shared 10 zero-waste items she uses to clean her own home:
- Rags instead of paper towels
- Natural cleaners instead of chemical-based in plastic bottles
- Metal scrub pads for pots and pads
- Reusable cloth mop pads
- Bulk unscented castile soap
- Old toothbrush for grout and crevices
- Broom and dustpan
- Straw brush for washing reusable straws
- Dishwasher tablets instead of detergent in plastic bottles
- Soap nuts for laundry
Hepokoski runs the Zero Waste Duluth Facebook page and has written a book, “Closing the Loop on Zero Waste.”
