Throwback Thursday: 4th St. & 7th Ave. E stop sign

A temporary stop sign was recently installed at the intersection of 4th Street and 7th Avenue E in Duluth’s Hillside while construction happens on a couple apartment buildings nearby.
WDIO film archives show there used to be a permanent stop sign there, though many cars did not heed it. Footage from August 1972 shows vehicle after vehicle blowing the stop sign.
