Twin Ports trio will represent U.S. at international baton twirling championships

The girls will represent the U.S. at the International Baton Twirling Championships in Torino, Italy in August.

Three Twin Ports girls will represent the U.S. at the International Baton Twirling Championship in Torvino, Italy this August. Lila Gucinski, from Superior, is competing in Junior Artistic Twirl. Addisyn Salo, from Duluth, is going for Youth Solo. Maylee Nord, Superior, and Addisyn Salo are going for Junior Duet.

They held a fundraiser at the Moose Lodge in Superior on Saturday, March 29, helping them cover the cost of their trip to Europe for the competition. The girls say they are looking forward to travelling to compete at the international level.

“It’s just kind of crazy to think about, like, all the different places who are coming together. So it’s going to be cool to see other people’s, like, experiences and what they’ve been working on. And also showcasing and just going for the experience as well. And we’re really, really excited to compete for sure,” said Maylee Nord.

Good luck in Italy!
