On Monday, people across the country will take to Zoom and sing as part of “Idol Across America”
The first round of American Idol auditions are virtual and can take place from the comfort of your own home.
Senior Producer Melissa Elfar says this has helped them find the best of the best, “You don’t need to go anywhere. You don’t need to do anything. You can be in your bedroom and kitchen- you can be in the most comfortable environment ever.””
Melissa’s share her tips for those in the audition process:
- Treat the audition like a job interview.
- Be yourself
Melissa adds, “Because that really shows- and that works. You know, I think we all saw that last season with Iam. The minute he walked into that room he was himself”
“We saw it the year before with Noah Thompson. He auditioned from work. His buddy signed him up. On his phone, he was auditioning from his construction site.”
Those ages 15 to 28 can register to audition online. Melissa says that it doesn’t even have to be with your state. However, Minnesota and Wisconsin’s day is Monday, August 28. There is still availability.
You can watch the next season of American Idol in the spring of 2024.
