Understanding how our nervous system connects to our mental health is the way our body communicates with how we are doing.
The nervous system is a central component of the human body, but most people don’t spend much time thinking about it.
Amelia Chapman is a nervous system practitioner through her business, Mind Body Amore. She helps people discover the connection between the nervous system and mental health.
She explained that the nervous system is like the “control center” of the body, and it’s made up of two main parts:
- Central Nervous System: Brain and spinal cord process information and send signals
- Peripheral Nervous System: Connects the body to brain and spinal cord
- Somatic Nervous System: Controls voluntary actions (muscle movement)
- Autonomic Nervous System: Regulates what you don’t think about (heart rate, breathing, etc.)
Chapman sees the nervous system as so important because it influences our emotions, energy levels, and even relationships.
