What’s Brewing: Axe throwing at Blacklist

There are a lot of breweries around the Northland, but there aren’t many that combine a taproom with axe throwing lanes.

Blacklist Brewing recently moved into a new, bigger space in downtown Duluth.

“Well, initially it was brewing space. So the location we were at at 120 East was long and narrow, and we just couldn’t fit more tanks. The bonus was we got a bigger taproom out of the deal,” Axe Throwing Manager Ray Mindestrom said. “It’s been absolutely incredible.”

Blacklist’s three axe throwing lanes are usually booked up weeks in advance. An employee walks people through the safety protocols and explains how best to throw an axe.
