What’s Brewing: Baihly joins Hoops’ Crowler Crew

The Lift's collaboration with Hoops Brewing to celebrate our Liftiversary is full steam ahead. Baihly learns how to fill the Crowler.

The Lift and Hoops are getting ready to launch the No. 430 Liftiversaberry Blueberry Wheat in September.

In preparation, Baihly Warfield got to join the crowler crew and learn to label, fill, and seal crowler cans. Hoops does the whole process by hand and distributes hundreds of crowlers a week to liquor stores.

First, the labels are filled out with the batch number, kind of beer, and date. Then they’re attached to the cans. The cans have to be rinsed then purged of as much oxygen as possible before they’re filled. A small machine seals the lids, and the crew dunks the cans in a bucket of water to clean them off before they’re sent to their final destinations.

The Liftiversaberry beer will be available in crowlers starting Sept. 6.

All are invited to the release party for the No. 430 Liftiversaberry Blueberry Wheat from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 6 in the Hoops Brewing taproom.
