Dream Cloud Coffee is constantly brewing something new.
The roaster and coffee shop has been open in downtown Duluth for about six months now. Charlie and Emily Comnick are the couple behind the coffee.
“We’ve always kind of wanted to open a coffee shop, and we had an opportunity to do that,” Emily said. “We found this spot, and here it is.”
They wanted the shop to feel dreamy and whimsical. The name “Dream Cloud” comes from their desire to evoke that feeling.
“Coffee’s such a high, fast-paced thing that we wanted people to come in, have an experience, enjoy their time in here,” Emily said.
Charlie does all the roasting right in-house. The couple also sells tea and ceramics they make at home. And they feature a rotating “Folk Tales” menu of seasonal drinks like the apple butter chai, which Emily said has been very popular.
“We use apple butter from Bayfield and then we make our chai mix here,” Emily said. “It’s with steamed milk. You can do regular milk, oat milk, a little cinnamon. It’s really fun.”
Dream Cloud Coffee is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
