What’s Brewing: Timber Coffee Company
Timber Coffee Company is a true family-run business. Katelyn Goutermont had the dream, and many of her family members are helping her live it out.
The coffee shop opened in Silver Bay in October of 2022.
“I’ve always wanted to own my own business. And a coffee shop just felt like a natural. So I figured it was a down-the-road sort of dream,” Goutermont said. “But this space became available, so we said, ‘You know what, let’s just go look at it. Let’s check it out.’ And we came and it fit and it seemed like the right thing for our community and for us. So jumped in and went for it.”
Goutermont said throughout the summer of 2023, they often had a line out the door.
“It’s just all about community here. My goal and my focus is just offer something for the locals, something for the visitors, just to be here for our community and offer a welcoming space for everybody,” she said.
Her signature latte is called the Bean and Bear, named after the popular nearby hike. It’s flavored with honey, vanilla, and cinnamon. She tries to use as natural of ingredients as possible.
And Timber Coffee Co. is expanding the food menu too. Goutermont’s dad makes biscuits from scratch every morning that can be made into breakfast sandwiches. They also do baked goods like scones and muffins. Soup is in the rotation on the weekends.
The shop is open Thursday-Monday, 7-2 on the weekdays and 8-2 on weekends.
