William Kent Krueger will celebrate new book release in the Northland

Author, William Kent Krueger introduces his new book 'Spirit Crossing' to The Lift viewers.

William Kent Krueger, a popular mystery writer who lives in Minnesota, will celebrate the release of his newest book with a weekend trip to the Northland.

“Spirit Crossing” came out Tuesday.

“I’ve been working with the folks in the Ojibwe community for a very long time. And among the many issues that are of concern to them is the concern of missing and murdered indigenous people. I’ve written about all kinds of issues that affect the community. But I hadn’t really ever touched on this one, and I thought that, with the encouragement of my friends in the Native community, maybe it was time I did just that. So that’s what’s at the heart of it,” he said.

He called it “a true mystery.” Kent Krueger has written five standalone novels and “Spirit Crossing” is his 20th in the Cork O’Connor mystery series.
