“The “My Town” series breaks down the popular misconceptions about the rural lifestyle, inspiring important conversations,” said director/writer Cory Hepola, a 3-time Emmy award-winning documentarian.
In Season 1 of “My Town,” Hepola – who grew up in a small town in Minnesota, travels to seven different rural communities across four states to learn why people choose to live where they do and discovers the opportunity, innovation, and connectedness that is found in rural America.
“I’ve always loved my hometown, but as a teenager, I was in a hurry to leave. As a 40- something adult with a wife and three young children, I have a different perspective, and I’m starting to realize I missed out. “My Town” shows the value of choosing rural life, something I didn’t understand as a kid,” said Hepola.
My Town” recently made its world premiere with two screenings at the Twin Cities Film Fest to spotlight all seven episodes from Season 1. “My Town” is the latest rural initiative from The Brookshire Company, a Minnesota-based Commercial Real Estate company.
