United States Steel is featured in “Military Makeover: Operation Career” in an episode titled, “Forging New Careers in Steel.”

The series shares stories of military veterans who have successfully transitioned to civilian life by finding meaningful and rewarding career opportunities.

This episode engages audiences looking to learn more about the steel industry and the veterans who are making a difference by highlighting the personal and professional journeys of four military veteran members of U. S. Steel’s team.

The one from the Northland is Tyna Hall, who is a multi-equipment operator at Keetac. She shared that she joined the army right out of high school, in 2003.

She and her husband were both active duty, and she decided to step back to focus on her family.

“I ended up moving to northern Minnesota. When I first heard about mining, I didn’t think I could do that. But I heard U.S. Steel had a strong veterans support option. U.S. Steel really appreciates veterans, and I think they strive to find them because of the unique qualities that we bring,” she shared.

“At U. S. Steel, we deeply value the skills, dedication, and leadership that veterans bring to our workforce,” said Mona Dine, U. S. Steel General Manager, Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer. “Their commitment to service aligns perfectly with our mission to produce steel that builds a stronger, safer future. We support our veterans, not just in words, but through meaningful employment opportunities that leverage their unique talents and experiences.”

The episode will air on Lifetime TV at 7:30 am ET on Sept 3, as well as on the Armed Forces Network, available to service members and Defense personnel around the globe. https://militarymakeover.tv/category/operation-career/
